Chapter 428 Wife, you're getting more and more greedy!
Chapter 428 Wife, you're getting more and more greedy!
Inside the dormitory, Lin Feng lay on the upper bunk, his body relaxed and his eyes gently closed.
My mind was completely blank; I temporarily set aside all thoughts of scriptures, the Lord of Tranquility, and my weaknesses, and simply rested quietly.
From the lower bunk came the sound of Vassim doing push-ups, rising and falling.
This guy never misses any opportunity to strengthen his body. Even if he chants scriptures until his throat is hoarse, he still makes sure to get back to full physical strength.
Suddenly, a voice rang in Lin Feng's ears.
Very light, very gentle, like a hand gently stroking the earlobe:
"Honey, you can come out now."
Lin Feng straightened his back and sprang up from the top bunk, the bed board making a short "creak" sound.
Wasim, on the lower bunk, stopped his push-ups, looked up, sweat still beading on his forehead: "What's wrong?"
Lin Feng looked slightly embarrassed and coughed lightly as he said:
"Um... the Guide's cat can't do backflips anymore, I'll go train it some more."
Wasim paused for a moment, then a meaningful smile slowly curved his lips.
"Oh—" he drawled, then chuckled in a deep voice, "Brother, I understand. I won't leave the door open for you tonight."
Lin Feng smiled noncommittally and turned to walk towards the door.
I walked briskly through the corridor and out of the archway of the dormitory area. The night breeze rushed towards me, carrying the unique coolness of the mountains.
The plaza on the second-level terrace was deserted, the sky above was covered with scattered stars, and the cold moonlight shone down, coating the entire temple with a layer of silvery frost.
Xia Ning stood in the shadows beside the archway.
Hearing footsteps, she turned around, her gaze falling on him. Without any further pleasantries, she simply raised a finger.
A gentle light emanated from her fingertips and landed on Lin Feng.
Lin Feng's gray robe instantly turned black, exactly the same outfit as last time.
Lin Feng skillfully pulled up his hood, covering most of his face.
"Walk."
Xia Ning only said this one word before turning and leaving.
The two walked one after the other, their steps light and quick, like two silent shadows passing through the stone path of the second-level terrace.
Occasionally, they would encounter one or two black-clad butlers along the way. Upon seeing Xia Ning's figure from afar, they would automatically give way, bow their heads, and no one would give her a second glance.
The black iron gate of the round building stood silently in the night. Xia Ning raised her hand and pressed it on a certain spot on the door. A nearly invisible pattern lit up with a faint light, followed by a dull click of a mechanism. The door opened silently a crack.
The two slipped inside, and the door quietly closed behind them.
The stairwell was pitch black, except for a soft light shining from Xia Ning's palm, illuminating the spiraling stone steps beneath her feet.
Lin Feng followed behind her, and could smell the faint, cool fragrance emanating from her.
Speechless all the way.
Upon reaching the third floor of the round building, Xia Ning pushed open the door, stepped aside to let Lin Feng go in first, and then quickly followed. With a flick of her finger, the door lock clicked shut.
She turned around, and at that moment, her clear, cold eyes finally shed all pretense.
Before Lin Feng could speak, she had already hooked her arms around his neck, lightly touched the ground with her toes, and jumped up like a nimble cat, her legs tightly wrapped around his waist.
Lin Feng was pulled back half a step by the force of the impact, but he quickly regained his balance, supported her waist with both hands, and a smile appeared on his lips:
"So urgent?"
Xia Ning buried her face in the crook of his neck, her breath hot, tinged with a hint of coquettishness:
"That fast food lunch was too rushed."
She looked up, her eyes shimmering.
"This time I'm going to eat hot pot, take my time, and eat for two hours."
Lin Feng chuckled softly, his palm caressing her waist, his tone gentle yet tinged with a hint of roguishness:
"Okay, I'll serve you the hot pot base now."
As he spoke, he carried her toward the single bed in the room.
The bed was made of wooden planks and covered with a thin mattress, so it didn't look very sturdy.
Lin Feng placed her on the bed and was about to sit up when Xia Ning clung to his neck and refused to let go. She raised her other hand and drew a complex rune in the air with her fingertips.
A pale golden light spread from her fingertips, rippling outwards like water, quickly filling the entire room before disappearing into the walls, floor, and ceiling.
"A barrier," Xia Ning said softly, her eyelashes trembling slightly. "No matter how much noise we make, no one outside can hear us."
Lin Feng raised an eyebrow, looked down at her, and smiled.
"Since my wife has said that..."
He leaned down, forehead to forehead, their breaths mingling:
"Then I'll get to work!"
The night was thick, and the moonlight spread across the bed like water.
The live stream room was now just a black screen, and the classic Canon in D began to play softly.
Soon, the single bed began to creak more and more violently.
until--
"Bang!"
A muffled thud followed by the sound of wood breaking.
Lin Feng paused, looked down, and saw that the bed board beneath him had split open in the middle, the mattress had collapsed, and the entire single bed had crookedly collapsed as if its spine had been removed.
"..." Lin Feng paused for a second, then smiled wryly, "Well, it really did fall apart."
He propped himself up, wanting to get down and see if he could fix it, but Xia Ning grabbed his arm, her fingers tightening so hard that her nails almost dug into his skin.
"Don't stop."
Her voice was a little hoarse, and her eyes were hazy yet stubborn.
Lin Feng shook his head resignedly, supported her waist, found a new place to rest, and continued his diligent work.
The bed frame creaked and groaned again, as if protesting the undue weight it was bearing.
Another hour has passed.
Sweat slid down Lin Feng's back, glistening faintly in the moonlight.
Xia Ning slumped softly into the shattered bed frame and disheveled mattress, like a pool of melted sugar.
Her gaze was unfocused for a few seconds, her lips were slightly parted, and her breathing gradually calmed down.
Sage Mode.
Lin Feng rolled over and lay down next to her, reaching out to pull her into his arms.
Xia Ning curled up against his chest like a satisfied cat, her cheek pressed against his collarbone, her fingertips unconsciously drawing circles on his chest.
After a long silence, she finally spoke, her voice languid:
"Honey, you're getting more and more amazing!"
Lin Feng chuckled softly, then turned his head and kissed her forehead.
"It must be because he received 30% of his bloodline power from Xiao Cheche."
He gently stroked her back with his palm, his tone tinged with a mixture of affection and playfulness:
"Now I'm using the money to give back to my family; it's a way of giving back to the people what I took from them."
Xia Ning's voice was muffled:
"I wish this instance would never end."
"That way, you'll always belong to me alone."
Lin Feng said with a smile, "Wife, you're getting more and more greedy!"
Xia Ning looked up, the moonlight falling directly on her face, her once cool eyes now brimming with tears:
"Who told you to have so many wives? There simply won't be enough to go around when you get back!"
Lin Feng smiled and tapped her nose: "How could that be? You're free now that you're not pregnant, they can't compete with you for this kind of strenuous activity."
Xia Ning's eyebrows lifted: "That's true."
The two chatted for a while longer, then Lin Feng suddenly sat up in bed:
"It's almost time; we should go and find out the incantation!"
