Kitana, the Fan Blade Princess, is one of the core characters in the fighting game Mortal Kombat, first appearing in Mortal Kombat 2 in 1993. Originally the adopted daughter of the villain Shao Kang, her true identity is an empress from another world, and her martial arts style is Baguaquan.
During the golden age of a certain sanctuary that was shattered nine times, Princess Gitana from the planet Edithia arrived in New Hong Kong aboard a Chinese-style wooden spaceship to participate in the "World's Number One Martial Arts Tournament." There, she formed a bond with Wu Chen, the story lord of New Hong Kong, and sought to win the tournament in exchange for Wu Chen's promise to grant her "one wish" (see the chapters before and after "Even Villains Have Their Spring 2.94: Guardians III Part 9" for details).
Edenia is a beautiful and lush country with a pleasant climate and spring-like weather all year round, making it a paradise.
Most of the female characters in Mortal Kombat hail from this beautiful country. The people of Idinia are kind, friendly, and peace-loving. They look no different from Earthlings but are exceptionally long-lived. The most typical example is Princess Gitana, who looks like a young girl but is actually over ten thousand years old. Yet, she is still in her youthful stage.
The Idinians are immortal because they are descendants of gods. Their unique bloodline endows them with innate magical powers (please note!) and extraordinary lifespans.
According to the lore, the Idinians are the best allies of Earth's warriors. They help and cooperate with each other, readily offering assistance when one faces difficulties. Unlike Earth, Idinians have no distinct nations, and their political system is entirely different. The entire country operates under a feudal system with hereditary monarchy. The most recent king was named Jerrod, and his queen and daughter are the familiar Queen Sindel and Princess Gitana to players.
Earthlings focused on technological development, while the Idinians were captivated by the pursuit of magic. Queen Sindel, in particular, was obsessed with the study of flight magic. Due to their underdeveloped technology, the entire nation of Idinia appeared ancient, mysterious, and possessed a strong exotic charm.
Unfortunately, approximately 1 years before the events of Mortal Kombat, Idinia was conquered by Shao Kahn and his forces. The guardian spirits were defeated, the king was murdered, the queen was taken as a concubine, and the princess was abducted. The people were enslaved, the spirits of the dead were imprisoned, the land was absorbed and annexed by the Outworld, fertile fields and beautiful landscapes vanished, and the world was doomed. Idinia ceased to exist from that moment on…
For Asian players, this series is obviously not as familiar as Street Fighter or King of Fighters, but in the West, where violence and gore are popular, Mortal Kombat is a household name! In fact, in the "favorite fighting game character" poll, Fan Blade Princess Kitana and the eternal fighting queen Chun-Li are equally popular!

These mechanical structures, along with the Mayan pyramids, resurfaced as the story of the Fulong Temple Pagoda unfolded. The trucks and motorcycles were repaired by the survivors, with the trucks being used as small settlements within the camp after simple modifications. The motorcycles were converted into amphibious motorboats for the survivors to use in traversing the swamps to search for supplies or retrieve the dead.
“Bloodsucking, blood replenishment; bloodsucking again, blood replenishment again. This cyclical economy of nightclub revelry seems quite convincing.” Chen Changzhi, the eldest sister, remarked with feeling as they followed Blade Sonia.
"This is the kind of plot development that is often unknown to others, yet incredibly vivid," Wu Chen said with a smile. "It's the side quests that are often subconsciously overlooked by players who are focused solely on advancing the main storyline, that unfold with such subtlety."
“That’s true.” Chen Changzhi nodded with satisfaction.
If you weren't there in person, everything about the Mayan pyramids would be overlooked. Wu Chen's motivation for unfolding this important plot point is clearly self-evident. It's necessary to complete the main storyline and unlock the next stage of linear adventure. "I'll say it again, no amount of money will sell it." From afar, Blade Sonia's stern refusal could be heard.
