Chapter Three: Bumblebee

With so many children, Jike was too lazy to bother with this one. Let it run wherever it wanted! Even if Chu Ye were just running and climbing trees here, or even if Chu Ye suddenly disappeared, it probably wouldn't care much.

But one time, when Chu Ye was running, Lisa saw him. She seemed to sense that Chu Ye's behavior was not good.

Because of the hot weather and high daytime temperatures, lions' thick fur hinders heat dissipation, and they cannot afford to overexert themselves, otherwise their body temperature will rise too high, endangering their lives. This is why lions always seem to be lying around lazily during the day.

Actually, the lions didn't become lazy; it was because the temperature was too high, and they couldn't engage in strenuous activity.

So Lisa went over and stopped Chu Ye from running there. Chu Ye understood the lioness's thoughts; he would behave better when the lioness was home.

Chu Ye was well aware of the dangers of high body temperature for a lion, so he would control the pace of training to prevent himself from developing a high body temperature.

Chu Ye knew how to control his training pace so that he wouldn't get heatstroke. He usually chose to train in the cooler mornings, and he would take a proper rest at noon.

After half a month of training, Chu Ye felt that its physical fitness had greatly improved, its body had become much stronger, and its tree-climbing ability was extraordinary.

The other lion cubs, apart from growing a little bigger, didn't change much.

Among Elsa's children was a little male lion named Blackie.

This creature was slightly taller than Chu Ye; it was the largest and strongest of the ten lion cubs. Perhaps for this reason, it often bullied the cubs born to Lisa.

It seemed to dislike Chu Ye even more, and would always find fault with him for no reason.

Chu Ye didn't want to stoop to the level of this little lion. After all, it was his cousin, and he would give it some face.

However, Xiao Hei showed no respect for Chu Ye at all, barking at him frequently and even slapping him from time to time.

Chu Ye has always dealt with all of this through patience and forbearance.

Xiao Hei was also very proud, feeling that Chu Ye was afraid of it, and it always acted arrogantly in front of Chu Ye.

One day, while the lion cubs were practicing jumping with their father, the lion king, Little Black did something, whether intentionally or unintentionally.

As he jumped down from the height, he lunged directly at Chu Ye. Chu Ye reacted quickly and jumped to the side.

Xiao Hei didn't pounce on Chu Ye. Instead, it fell to the ground.

To be honest, Xiao Hei was deliberately bullying Chu Ye, but it got angry instead.

When Xiao Hei saw that it hadn't pounced on Chu Ye, but instead had fallen heavily to the ground, it was furious and immediately went to tear Chu Ye apart.

Chu Ye didn't want to fight this unreasonable little lion. In fact, he felt he should be able to beat it.

Chu Ye simply wanted to hone his ability to escape, so when Xiao Hei tried to bite him, he ran to the side.

Xiao Hei was still not convinced and immediately chased after him. Chu Ye ran very fast, and Xiao Hei couldn't catch up at all.

Seeing that Xiao Hei was chasing him, Chu Ye ran to the big tree and quickly climbed up it.

Little Black ran to the base of the big tree, wanting to climb up as well, but it had never been trained to climb trees.

Although lions are felines and are naturally good at climbing trees, this skill still requires practice.

Chu Ye has been practicing for half a month, and he can climb up the big tree as fast as a cat. Not only can he climb up the big tree quickly, but he can also jump around on the tree like a monkey.

Little Black, however, had no such ability; it had never climbed a tree before. Seeing Chu Ye escape to the top of a tree, it became very angry and wanted to climb up as well.

It had only climbed about two meters high when it got scared and stopped trying to climb any higher. So it slowly backed away, and that's when it accidentally fell off.

Chu Ye watched as Xiao Hei fell down, and happily jumped around on the big tree.

Little Black tripped and fell flat on its face. It angrily looked up at Chu Ye from under the tree and barked.

Chu Ye jumped around in the tree, deliberately trying to annoy Xiao Hei.

Little Black could only howl angrily under the tree, completely helpless.

Just then, Aisha came over. She and Lisa had successfully hunted the lions the night before, and the three adult lions had a hearty meal.

Elsa no longer needed to hunt, so she came over to nurse her cubs. Two-month-old lion cubs still needed to nurse.

When Little Black saw that the lioness was about to nurse them, it wagged its tail and went to nurse, no longer bothering Chu Ye.

Chu Ye climbed down from the big tree again.

After his sparring match with Xiao Hei, Xiao Hei realized that Chu Ye was not someone to be trifled with. However, this guy still acted arrogantly in front of Chu Ye; after all, he was tall and didn't take Chu Ye seriously.

Although he didn't get the better of Chu Ye last time, Chu Ye still managed to chase him down to the tree.

Chu Ye knew that simply running away wouldn't be enough to completely defeat Xiao Hei; he had to use some powerful moves. Only then could he truly make it fear him.

However, Chu Xiaoye had not yet come up with a better way to deal with Xiao Hei.

One day, while Chu Ye was playing on the grass, he suddenly saw a long-tailed mouse in the bushes. The mouse immediately ran away upon seeing Chu Ye.

This rat is the elephant shrew, a species unique to Africa.

This little mouse is quite peculiar, with a long, pointed nose and relatively thick hind legs. It is very adept at jumping. Like shrews and some North American jerboas, they may share a common ancestor.

Chu Ye wanted to test his running ability, so he started chasing after it. But the little mouse suddenly darted into a bush in the distance.

Chu Ye hadn't originally planned to give up. But then he thought, maybe he should work on his hunting skills; this was an opportunity, and he should train.

So Chu Ye ran to the bushes again. Without thinking much, he darted into the bushes to see if the mouse was still inside. But as soon as he entered the bushes, he saw a huge beehive, crawling with yellow wasps.

Upon seeing these wasps, Chu Ye's fur stood on end, and only two words came to his mind—escape.
