Chapter 33 Hidden Clues
Chapter 33 Hidden Clues
As to which of the two shooting plans is easier or more difficult, Ji Cheng and Lao Huang's judgment may not be accurate, after all, they do not understand Peng Jun's perspective.
However, in terms of efficiency alone, Peng Jun's later solution was clearly superior.
Wei Hongsi opened the video that Ji Cheng had just forwarded and watched it in its entirety. Based on Ji Cheng's description of the scene at the time, he could confirm that the abandoned plan contained more variables.
From a model analysis perspective, an increase in variables means an increase in complexity.
So here's the question: even in the early stages of creating the amusement park, before the mastermind had made it their target, Peng Jun seemed to have no reason to choose a solution that was both inefficient and highly complex.
Unless he didn't even have that plan in mind at the time.
Wei Hongsi pondered for a moment, then played the video again. He noticed that Peng Jun seemed to say something before starting the demonstration.
I dragged the progress bar to the far left and looked at it again. I found that Peng Jun's lip movements were a bit strange. It didn't sound like he was speaking, but rather like he was shouting or chanting.
"President Ji, take a look at this." Wei Hongsi placed his phone on the table and scrolled to the beginning of the video. "Do you know what Peng Jun is saying?"
Ji Cheng glanced at the screen and shook his head, saying, "He didn't say anything, he just made some weird noises and was trying to keep a rhythm for himself."
"Playing the rhythm?"
"Or maybe I should tell you this person is a bit neurotic. But for someone who likes to dance awkwardly, this is probably normal, right?"
Wei Hongsi nodded in agreement. He then put on his headphones, turned up the volume, and watched the first short second or so of content several times.
It's a pity that Tang Jinxia didn't start filming earlier, as there's too little information available for analysis. Furthermore, he himself has no knowledge of music and couldn't determine the meaning of those shouts.
However, Wei Hongsi noticed that as Peng Jun uttered the last syllable, he entered a state of blank stare, which looked very strange, and a guess began to form in his mind.
Putting aside this question for the time being, and watching Lao Huang and the others film another shot, Wei Hongsi felt that there was enough to explore and there was no need to stay any longer, so he bid farewell to Ji Cheng and prepared to leave.
It was already past eleven o'clock. Ji Cheng asked him to stay for dinner, but when Wei Hongsi said he had important business to attend to, he didn't insist.
However, Ji Cheng did not forget his "promise" to Wei Hongsi, so he invited Shen Qing over and took two photos with Wei Hongsi.
Wei Hongsi had never been a fan of celebrities and didn't know how to take a photo with an idol, so he treated it like an ordinary photo with classmates or schoolmates.
Lu Jiaqi couldn't help but chuckle as she watched from afar. She figured Wei Hongsi wouldn't post this photo, otherwise it would definitely anger Shen Qing's fans: "Who's the fan here, you two?"
Wei Hongsi came out of the amusement park's distribution center, took out his phone and called his older brother, but no one answered after it rang for a long time.
He called Zhang Shengyong again, and this time the call was answered quickly.
"Hey, Yong-ge, I've made a new discovery on set."
"Really? If you have time right now, come to our branch office. I'll be right back!"
"OK."
The sound on the other end of the phone was quite noisy, sounding like it was coming from the street, so Wei Hongsi didn't go into details.
He hung up the phone, went to the roadside and hailed a ride-hailing car, arriving at the district branch's criminal investigation division about thirty minutes later.
As soon as he entered the courtyard, he saw Zhang Shengyong and a tall, thin young policeman named Sun Chen carrying plastic bags and walking into the building. Wei Hongsi quickly ran a few steps to catch up with them.
Hearing the commotion, Zhang Shengyong turned around, raised his hand, and said, "Perfect timing! I'll treat you to a big meal!"
The bags the two were carrying were full of disposable lunch boxes, half filled with rice and half with vegetables. Through the transparent plastic lids, you could see chicken legs and fish fillets among the dishes, which could indeed be considered a feast.
"Is my brother here too?" Wei Hongsi asked. His brother hadn't called him back, so he must have contacted Zhang Shengyong first.
"Yes, I'm here. I came back around the same time as you," Zhang Shengyong nodded and said.
Upon reaching the third floor and entering the main office area of the brigade, Zhang Shengyong and Sun Chen distributed lunch to the busy team members and urged everyone to eat first.
Without being asked, Wei Hongsi took a meal and sat down to eat in the small conference room inside. A short while later, Wei Hongbo and Zhang Shengyong also arrived with their lunchboxes.
"What new discoveries have you made?" Wei Hongbo asked as he sat down.
"Let's eat first," Wei Hongsi said without looking up.
He thought Wu Wenjun's habit of eating before work was excellent and hoped that his older brother and his colleagues could seriously emulate it.
Wei Hongbo stopped asking questions and started discussing the case with Zhang Shengyong while eating.
That morning, they went to investigate the movements of Li Yunxiang and Peng Jun before and after their "enlightenment." Although three or four months had passed, the investigation had made some progress due to the relatively precise timeline.
Based on the information available, Li Yunxiang and Peng Jun have no connection in their daily lives. If their whereabouts intersect, it is highly likely that clues related to the mastermind behind the scenes will be found.
Unfortunately, they have not found any intersection in the investigation so far, which is somewhat disappointing.
Wei Hongsi ate much slower than the two policemen who were talking as they ate. By the time he finished, the two had already finished exchanging information and were looking at him.
"I can provide a few more key time points regarding Peng Jun."
Wei Hongsi wiped his mouth and told the two about Peng Jun's changes to the filming plan when filming Paradise GG, as well as his analysis and speculation. Then he wrote a time range on the whiteboard in the conference room.
5月26日16时三十分许——5月27日早上8点
"This is the time interval between the end of filming one day and the start of filming the next day. I believe that during this period, Peng Jun must have had contact with the mastermind behind the scenes, and it is very likely that it was direct contact."
Wei Hongbo looked at the whiteboard and nodded, saying, "May 26th was the day after your company's system malfunctioned."
Zhang Shengyong said, "Explain in detail the evidence you have for believing there was direct contact."
"Peng Jun's revised plan is very likely tailored to Zhiwei's analytical model and mirroring system. However, this plan cannot only consider the model and equipment, but also the human factor."
"Because compared to models and equipment, people are more unpredictable, the design must take into account redundancy, that is, fault tolerance. Specifically, in the case of this guy in the park, it is Shen Qing's individual performance."
At this point, Wei Hongsi couldn't help but ask, "Do you know Shen Qing?"
"I know, it's the singer who endorses the amusement park." Wei Hongbo nodded.
"We just won the Best Newcomer Award at the end of last year, right?" Zhang Shengyong said with a sneer. "We're not old fogies, you don't need to explain that to us."
Wei Hongsi seemed to choke for a moment and fell silent.
