Chapter 45 The New Intruder
Chapter 45 The New Intruder
The sound of engines filled the air as several cars drove up, led by Qin Han and his entourage, with the Sunset Motorcade following closely behind.
"Why are there so few people left in the sunset car team?"
Fu Xi's gaze fell on the last mile of the sunset convoy, most of which were filled with Qin Han's people.
"What a coincidence! They arrived at dawn!" Yu Wenwen stared at Qin Han and his group with a suspicious look.
"Yeah, what a coincidence. We just got through the crisis with the blood zombies, and now they're back again?" Fu Xi's brain was working at lightning speed.
"Do they possess some kind of power that attracts the demon slaves? Otherwise, how can they spend the nights peacefully? What do they rely on?"
Fu Xi had a startling idea pop into her mind. At this moment, the Qin brothers, Han and Song, had already gotten out of the car.
The moment Qin Han saw Fu Xi and the others, his expression immediately changed from joy to shock.
"How could this be? How are they still alive?" To avoid arousing suspicion, Qin Han greeted them with a smile.
"Brother Fuxi, it's so good to see you still alive!" Qin Han gripped Fuxi's right hand tightly.
"Qin Han, you've arrived just in time!" Fu Xi had been observing Qin Han's expression, but he was a seasoned veteran and would never show his emotions on his face.
"Brother Fuxi, what are you saying? We came to help you as soon as it was light!" Qin Han quickly pointed to the convoy behind him, where the area outside the carriages was a mess.
"Look, we also suffered heavy losses; it took us a tremendous amount of effort to survive!"
During the brief pause in their conversation, Tang Huo also came downstairs.
"Tang Huo? What happened to him?" Fu Xi (or Qin Han) looked at Tang Huo with a sorrowful expression and walked over like a wooden puppet.
Fu Xi had only been suspicious at first, but now, upon seeing Tang Huo, she glanced at Qin Han and his group.
"As expected, most of the dead were from the Sunset Car Team. It seems they were using the Sunset Car Team as human shields!" Fu Xi withdrew her gaze and looked at Qin Han again.
"Qin Han, last night was so dangerous, why did the Sunset Car Team suffer heavy losses, yet all your core personnel are still alive?"
"Brother Fuxi, you are unaware of this."
"We were surrounded last night. At first, we tried to escape, but the demon slaves came at us very quickly."
"The Sunset Convoy fought desperately to hold off the enemy, which is why we didn't suffer many casualties!" Qin Han was afraid that Fu Xi wouldn't believe him, so he immediately called Tang Huo over.
"Captain Tang, what do you think?"
Tang Huo remained unchanged, nodding like a robot. "Captain Qin is right. We fought to the death to hold off the enemy and that's how we survived!"
Fu Xi naturally didn't believe it. Who was Tang Huo?
He knew perfectly well that they prioritized profit above all else, and getting them to willingly stay behind was harder than climbing to heaven.
"Damn it? Is he still suspicious of something? We can't let him continue to be suspicious!" Qin Han pulled Fu Xi toward the warehouse.
"Brother Fuxi, casualties are inevitable when facing such strange occurrences. We must quickly prepare and deal with tonight's events!"
Fu Xi did not resist. He was indeed not in good condition right now, and even with the golden stone, it would still take some time for him to recover.
"Let's go, Captain Qin!" Fu Xi gradually slowed down.
Yu Wenwen also ran over at this moment. After looking around and finding nothing, she whispered in Fuxi's ear.
"Hey, Xiao Fu, you don't actually believe his nonsense, do you? This old bastard doesn't look like a good person. Why don't we just take him out?"
Yu Wenwen made a surprising statement: "We have several people with superpowers on our side; we might not be able to defeat him!"
Before Yu Wenwen could continue speaking, Fu Xi raised her hand to interrupt her, "Absolutely not! We don't know how many superhumans they have. Acting rashly might..."
"Besides, we're unfamiliar with this place, so let's try to get some information out of him first!" Yu Wenwen and the other person smiled at each other.
"Xiao Fu, you're being too cunning!" Yu Wenwen nudged Fu Xi with her elbow.
"Likewise!" The group had just entered the warehouse when they saw the Black Shark convoy that had been waiting for them.
"Alright, everyone who's still alive is here!" Fu Xi looked around and saw that most of the scattered convoys were dead.
The only survivors are the Black Shark team, Qin Han and his group, plus himself.
"Things have really changed. There were hundreds of people last night, but now there are only a few dozen left!" Fu Xi sat down around the campfire, looking at the arrogant Song Ren.
"Looks like he's not having an easy time either. The Black Shark team only has about twenty people left!" Fu Xi looked away, and Qin Han brought up the alliance again.
"Everyone, I'm sure you all remember what happened last night. I won't waste any more words here. We can only survive by joining forces!" Qin Han said bluntly.
"What's your decision?"
Before Qin Han could speak further, Song Ren flatly refused:
"Join forces? My Black Shark Racing Team never relies on others. We can survive today, and we can survive tomorrow too."
Qin Han didn't pay much attention to Song Ren; what he really wanted to win over was Fu Xi. "Brother Fu Xi, what are your thoughts?"
"Consider? Consider what? Captain Qin, I don't think that's the most important thing right now. We should talk about those demonic slaves!"
Fu Xi was full of resentment. If it weren't for Qin Han's bullshit murder theory, they wouldn't have been in such a sorry state last night.
"Oh, a demon slave? Why are we talking about that?" Qin Han frowned.
"The killing pattern! Didn't you say that the vengeful corpses would attack people who smelled the stench of death?" Fu Xi stared intently at the other person.
"I saw it with my own eyes, those scattered convoys wearing gas masks were still killed!" Fu Xi's words immediately ignited the anger of those around her.
Song Ren slammed his fist on the table and stood up, shouting insults at Qin Han:
"You have to give me an explanation for this Qin Han matter. Because of your so-called bullshit rules, dozens of my brothers died last night."
Qin Han remained calm, shook his head slightly, and said with a hint of bitterness, "This is indeed my fault, but the situation was too urgent, and this is all I can deduce..."
Qin Han appeared calm and collected, but Song Ren was furious.
"What the hell? You yourself don't even know the killing patterns of the Ghost Slaves, yet you're spouting nonsense here?"
"Song Ren, I advise you to watch your mouth. Knowing the pattern of murder is better than knowing nothing, right?" Tang Huo stepped forward and spoke in a mechanical tone.
"Damn it, why is Tang Huo acting like a dog over there? Has he started protecting his master?" Song Ren showed Tang Huo no mercy whatsoever.
Because of the other party's incorrect information, the Black Shark team lost dozens of lives for nothing.
Fortunately, Fu Xi pointed it out, otherwise he would have thought that there was something wrong with him until his death.
"After all that arguing, there's not a single reliable piece of information!" Fu Xi watched them bickering with boredom, and was about to leave when a strange voice came from behind.
"A bunch of trash! After experiencing such a dangerous scene, they still don't understand the rules of murder!" A man in black descended from the sky.
Song Ren and the others stopped talking and stared at the newcomer in shock.
Another superhuman!
