Chapter 104 Superpowers are Countered
Chapter 104 Superpowers are Countered
"You're so slow! You've kept me waiting for so long!" The man tilted his head to look at Fuxi, his voice unusually strained, not like a human voice.
Fu Xi frowned, her gaze fixed intently on the other person. "You know me?"
"Of course I've heard so much about you... My name is Blood Witch. Remember this name, because you'll be killed by it!" Blood Witch said coldly.
The air was deathly silent. Before Fu Xi could speak, Yu Wenwen stood in front of her, pointed at the Blood Witch, and began to shout:
"Old man, not that old, but you've got quite the nerve!"
"You want to kill Xiao Fu? I don't care who you are, come and try if you dare!" Standing next to Yu Wenwen were Ru Hua and two others.
Even without superpowers, they already felt a deep sense of shared destiny and willingness to die together.
The air was deathly silent. After a long silence, the Blood Witch finally stepped forward and said disdainfully:
"The people from the Titanic truly live up to their reputation; even without their superpowers, they can still be so arrogant. But we're taking your life!"
Fu Xi frowned, her gaze towards the other person growing increasingly uneasy, thinking to herself, "Us?"
"It seems many people have their eyes on me, but my life is on the line. If you want to kill me, then come and try!" Fu Xi said coldly.
The Blood Witch didn't dare to back down, coldly snorting, "You've got quite the nerve, but you'd better get past me first!"
The Blood Witch clapped her hands, and a man in black immediately walked over carrying a box the size of a head.
He placed the box in the center of the table and said seriously, "This time, the item up for auction is about how to enhance one's supernatural abilities. Each bid must be at least 100,000 Blood Essence!"
"One hundred thousand? The first floor is one thousand, the second floor is ten thousand, the third floor is one hundred thousand, but the fourth floor? No way..."
Fu Xi's gaze fell upon the end of the road, where a staircase stretched upwards.
"Could there be a fifth floor?" Just as Fu Xi was pondering this, the person across the table abruptly interrupted him.
"Let's begin!" The words fell as the dice cup began to shake under everyone's watchful eyes.
Yu Wenwen was the first to place a bet, and the others followed suit.
"I'll give the Blood Witch a thousand Blood Essence..."
"I'll stake a thousand blood essences on Xiao Fu..."
"..."
There was much discussion around, but Fuxi's thoughts were not on the dice cup.
His gaze swept around, and he quickly noticed many things that were amiss: "This place is completely dark, with only a small light in the middle!"
"I could only vaguely see more than a dozen figures around me through the light..."
As Fu Xi pondered, the dice cup stopped moving under the shocked gazes of everyone.
"God help me, it has to be a blood witch!"
"Bless me, I've sacrificed a thousand blood essences..."
The people around him were whispering amongst themselves, but the Blood Witch's gaze remained fixed on Fu Xi: "I'm betting on big, what are you betting on?"
The air was deathly silent. Fu Xi didn't reply, but his gaze was fixed on Yu Wenwen, who was shaking the bamboo sticks.
"What should Yu Wenwen bet on?"
Yu Wenwen was sweating profusely and shook the bamboo tube in disbelief, but strangely, none of the bamboo sticks inside came out.
"Xiao Fu, my bamboo sticks seem to be malfunctioning, and I can't use my supernatural abilities!" Yu Wenwen said in a trembling voice.
Fu Xi frowned immediately, looking at the golden token with disbelief. "Have you tried holding it in your arms?"
Yu Wenwen immediately responded, "I tried, but I still can't use my powers!"
The air was incredibly oppressive, and Fu Xi's face grew increasingly grim. He frantically looked around, "Something's wrong... Could there be something that can suppress the golden token?"
"That doesn't make sense either. The golden token should allow the user to use their supernatural abilities in the Boundless Land, so why is it malfunctioning here?"
"It worked fine down there, but it doesn't work here anymore. Something's wrong..."
A sense of unease began to grow in Fu Xi's heart. At that moment, Yu Wenwen looked at Fu Xi with concern, "Xiao Fu, what should we do?"
"So now we can only speculate? And we're not even sure if they're cheating..."
The two stared at each other, unsure of what to do, but the Blood Witch looked at the other with a cold smile.
"Fuxi, you've finally met your match! I'm telling you, you're going to die here today!" The Blood Witch snapped out of her thoughts and immediately looked at the people around her who had placed their bets.
"What are you betting on? You can't expect everyone to wait for you, can you?" The Blood Witch fanned the flames, and the people around immediately echoed her sentiments.
"Hurry up! Don't we all have time?"
"Yeah, what's with all the dawdling?"
"It takes this long to place a bet? I really don't know how you even got to the third floor!"
Surrounded by people talking amongst themselves, Yu Wenwen, who already couldn't guess the size of the deal, suddenly felt immense pressure.
Yu Wenwen looked at Fuxi helplessly: "Fuxi, what should we do?"
Fu Xi clenched her fists and gently patted Yu Wenwen's shoulder, saying, "Try a few more times, I'll buy you some time!"
Fu Xi looked up at the Blood Witch, thinking to herself:
"Anyone who makes it this far must be a skilled cheater, but I'd like to know what you'll do if you bet the same thing as me!"
Fu Xi muttered to himself, and just as he was about to speak, the other party interrupted him.
"My lord, I may make three requests. I would like to make one now!" The Blood Witch turned around and looked at the stairs at the end of the road.
Soon a figure in white appeared on the stairs. Fu Xi recognized her at a glance; it was the woman who had worn the fox mask earlier.
"Approved. Anyone who disobeys will be thrown into jail!" The voice was icy cold, without any hesitation.
"You..." A hint of anger flashed in Fu Xi's eyes, but she quickly made a decision.
"You really think I can only mention this one? Sorry, I have more..." Just as Fuxi was feeling smug, another accident happened.
"My lord, I have two more chances to make a request. This time, I want to request the 'No Regrets Dice Gu'!" the Blood Witch said once again.
The response was immediate: "Approved. Anyone who disobeys will be imprisoned!"
"I'd like to see how you're going to fight me!" The Blood Witch looked Fuxi up and down with a mocking gaze.
Across the table, Fu Xi clenched her fists, her face growing even more grim. "It seems this is a deliberate trap set to kill me!"
"Furthermore, the other party might possess some kind of precognitive ability. We can't predict the dice game right now, so are we just going to gamble blindly?"
Fu Xi wondered to herself, then looked at Yu Wenwen sitting on the ground again. "Yu Wenwen, how are you?"
Fu Xi was overjoyed, but his hope was quickly dashed once again.
"It still doesn't work!" Yu Wenwen shook her head and said in a trembling voice.
"Xiao Fu, what should we do? Are we just going to wait to lose?" Yu Wenwen looked at Fu Xi helplessly.
"Damn it, it seems I have no choice but to use that move!" Fu Xi clenched her fists, about to pretend to be dead and lie on the ground, when the Blood Witch's voice came to her ears again.
"My lord, I have one more request: there must be no delays whatsoever!"
"Approved. Anyone who disobeys will be imprisoned!"
The Blood Witch looked at Fu Xi with disdain once more: "Is this all the capital you have to dominate below? Now I've crushed it all for you, what can you do about it?"
"You have ten seconds. You have to gamble, whether you like it or not!"
"10..."
