Chapter 158 Let's Have Some Music (10k)

After speaking with Susan and the other two, Gavin waved for them to leave.

Once they were out of sight, Gavin turned around, spread his hands at Thomas, and said with a smile.

"Did you hear that, Thomas? Miss Susan has her own career plans."

"Yes, sir, Sister Susan is surprisingly well-behaved."

Thomas couldn't help but smile at Gavin.

Thomas had originally expected that Susan would act like a scoundrel or make a scene with Gavin.

Instead of being unreasonable, Susan clearly stated her attitude towards life.

This made Thomas appreciate Susan a little bit. Although Susan was lazy, she was fine as long as she followed the rules.

The camp isn't afraid of having a few lazybones; the camp is only afraid of having one rule-breaker after another.

Laziness is certainly despicable, but breaking the rules is the real problem.

Thinking of this, Gavin chuckled and tapped the table.

"Alright, that's it for Susan's problem. If she really can't survive, she'll find a way herself. The important thing is that everyone in the camp sees the punishment Susan faces."

"Besides Susan's matter, Thomas, was there anything else this morning?"

Gavin pressed Thomas for an answer, and Thomas, after a moment's thought, whispered to Gavin.

"Indeed, there is one more thing, sir. Old Bert seems to think there is a problem with the astronauts on the space station."

"Why--""

Upon hearing this, Gavin couldn't help but sigh.

"The last thing I want to hear is that those respectable guys are in trouble. Thomas, tell the guys who were with me this morning to take a break until 2:30. I'm going to sit in the broadcasting room for a while."

After saying this, Gavin gave Winnie's hair a final rub before kissing Nikita goodbye.

He left the restaurant and headed straight for the broadcasting room.

Seeing Gavin arrive, old Bert raised his hand and beckoned to Gavin, saying...

"Gavin, I heard you brought back a professional DJ, so does that mean I can finally get rid of this damn seat?"

"Huh? Old buddy, I thought you liked the broadcasting room. Turns out you don't actually like it here?"

Gavin chuckled and asked, then sat down next to old Bert, glanced at the radio station playing a recording, patted the radio connecting the astronauts, and continued to ask.

"And also, how long will it take before we can re-establish contact with the astronauts?"

"It won't take long, about thirty minutes. You can sit here with this old ghost for a while."

Old Bert answered Gavin's question, then patted his chair, crossed his legs idly, and continued speaking.

"As for whether I'll like the broadcasting room, ha, are you kidding me? How could I possibly love it?"

"I'm not a broadcaster or host, and I don't enjoy being glib. Compared to chatting with guys who are far away, I much prefer dealing with the diseases of cattle and horses and the red-hot iron ingots in the forge!"

At this point, old Bert raised his right arm and made a Popeye gesture.

Gavin patted old Bert on the shoulder understandingly.

"You've really been working hard lately, old buddy."

"Stop being so sentimental, kid. Sentimentality isn't in Texas. What we need are tough guys on the front lines, the kind of optimistic tough guys who, even if the world collapses and there's nowhere to hide, can still smile and tell everyone, 'We can finally die together!'"

As he spoke, old Bert grabbed Gavin's wrist and clenched his fist.

After realizing that Gavin's fist was much larger than his hand, old Bert grinned and released Gavin.

Gavin, listening to old Bert's words, nodded and chuckled softly.

"Yeah, tough guy, I'm really glad I've met everyone's goals, but speaking of which, you probably can't handle an ingot in your current state, can you?"

"Indeed, I am not capable of blacksmithing right now, but that doesn't mean I can't instruct others. The new guy named Manus is quite good. A blacksmith's personality should be a bit fiery, and if he were a bit foolish, that would be even better, as it would make it easier for him to calm down."

As old Bert answered, a mischievous smile appeared on his face.

He just kept smiling mischievously as he continued talking to Jia.

"So you see, Manus was born to be an excellent blacksmith. While he might not reach the level of a master, he would at least be an excellent laborer."

"I plan to pass on my skills to him, and I think it's necessary for us to bring all the forging tools from my house, especially my forge."

"Those things aren't easy to move; you'll probably need a forklift. I've been thinking, there should be plenty of forklifts at the plantation."

"Once you and your men bring back what I asked for, I can take Manus and we can make some gadgets for the guys in the camp."

At this point, old Bert tapped his thigh with his fingers, pondering what he should create.

Gavin, meanwhile, went through what old Bert had said in his mind, and estimated the distance and approximate time.

After a moment, old Bert nodded knowingly and continued speaking to Gavin.

"I've got it. You're lacking some lightweight equipment for direct confrontation with zombies, especially thin chainmail for the shoulders and neck, and thin arm armor for the forearms and upper arms."

"These chainmails and arm guards don't need to be very heavy. After all, they're not meant to defend against greatswords and ball-headed maces. They just need to prevent zombies from biting through those areas!"

"We don't need to worry too much about our body defenses, since you're all generally wearing bulletproof vests. Those things can protect against not only zombies but also people."

"So all I need to prepare are the parts that the bulletproof vest can't protect."

At this point, old Bert raised his hand and gestured to himself, focusing on moving his hand back and forth around his elbow.

A moment later, old Bert said with a smile.

"It seems that what I need to do is not difficult. Each of you will be equipped with a hooded chainmail shoulder guard to protect your neck and shoulders. In addition, there will be arm armor for your forearms and upper arms, as well as spherical iron elbow guards to protect your elbows. That should be enough."

"Aside from your upper body, it's difficult to protect your legs, but adding a few pieces of leather to your pants is much simpler than making leg armor."

"The reason I'm equipping your upper bodies with armor is because it will allow you to make more aggressive choices when facing zombies, giving you the confidence to engage in close combat with stray zombies."

"But I'd better not mess with your legs, because I just want you guys to run faster~"

As soon as he finished speaking, old Bert clapped his hands with a smile, seemingly pleased that he had found the right approach.

As for Gavin, after a brief moment of thought, he spoke to old Bert.

"By the way, old Bert, besides armor, we might also need a custom-made melee weapon service."

"For example, a jackhammer or a one-handed sword is not enough for me. I need two two-handed greatswords that fit my body size. Only those things are suitable for me to wreak havoc in the zombie horde."

"With a full set of armor, and two two-handed swords, I think I could even face around thirty zombies at once!"

"Ah, right, right, right!"

Upon hearing Gavin's words, old Bert quickly nodded and echoed Gavin's statement.

"You're right. If a war really breaks out, then custom-made weapons are definitely more handy. I won't refuse this job."

"However, I don't quite trust Manus's craftsmanship yet, so after I recover, I'll personally forge a weapon for you. Trust me, I'll adjust the sword's center of gravity to be the most suitable for your use. I have that ability."

Old Bert proudly raised his thumb, and Gavin nodded in agreement.

The two then engaged in a discussion for some time regarding various types of armor and weapons.

They chatted until it was almost time, then the two connected via broadcast and began calling the International Space Station.

A moment later, the International Space Station's voice came through, and Naoya Kobayashi's signature Japanese voice was the first to come out of the radio.

"Private message Marseille, Mr. Li, Mr. Albert, we encountered a small problem on our end and had to terminate our call. We apologize."

As soon as the call connected, Kobayashi launched into a standard Japanese monologue.

Oh, it's a Japanese-style apology.

In short, inside the space station, Kobayashi Naoya apologized while rubbing his hair.

On the ground, after hearing Kobayashi Naoya's words, Gavin remained silent for a moment before speaking to Kobayashi.

"Kobayashi, this is Gavin."

"Hello, Gavin. It seems you've made time for us, or perhaps the unusual events happening on our end have put you on alert."

"If it's the latter, I'm very sorry. Faced with the pressure of the apocalypse, we shouldn't be causing trouble for the survivors, but I apologize for making you laugh. It seems we can't avoid psychological problems either."

"Or perhaps it is precisely because of our position that we are more prone to physical illnesses."

"Mental illness?"

Upon hearing Kobayashi Naoya's words, Gavin couldn't help but frown and speak to Kobayashi Naoya.

"I did know about the first time you hung up, but I really don't know what happened. Could you tell us about your problem?"

"There's nothing I can't say, Gavin. Our psychiatrist has developed a serious mental illness, which is why we had to end our previous calls and get together to try and solve his problems—..."

Naoya Kobayashi immediately explained to Gavin.

But Xiaolin's explanation only made things worse, leaving Gavin completely bewildered.

"etc!"

Gavin asked Kobayashi in surprise.

"Are you sure what you said is correct? What do you mean by 'the psychiatrist has a mental illness'? What do you mean by 'a group of you getting together to help the psychiatrist solve his mental problems'?"

At this point, Gavin looked at old Bert with a wry smile, and old Bert also opened his mouth exaggeratedly.

Faced with Gavin's persistent questioning, Naoya Kobayashi seemed to pause for a moment in surprise.

A moment later, Naoya Kobayashi replied wearily.

"That's right, just like I said, Ka-kun, our Dr. Ryo is sick, and very sick."

"Over the past few days, each of us has sought out a therapist to relieve stress, but we mistakenly overlooked the stress Edwin was also facing, and we also underestimated that opening up to him was also a process of venting our stress on him."

"Moreover, we never thought Edwin would have this problem in the first place, so by the time we found out, Edwin's condition was already very serious."

"He now frequently experiences auditory and visual hallucinations, talks to another version of himself, talks to famous dead people on Earth, and can even talk to God."

"Oh, right, he can also cook half a packet of vegetable meal kit into steak. At least when he eats it, it definitely tastes like steak. I'm quite envious of that."

"And after Edwin's problems arose, it became clear that none of us could seek psychological help anymore. From now on, whatever problems arise, we'll have to get through them on our own."

"But that's not the worst thing. The worst thing is that Edwin is the best mathematician in our group, and he was involved in all the calculations over the past few days, and he also did our data summary."

"It's understandable that we now have serious doubts about the results we've achieved over the past few days, and recalculating will obviously require us to do much more work."

"Too much work will only exacerbate our psychological stress and mental fatigue. Although I don't like to say anything discouraging, Gavin, perhaps every conversation we have could be our last."

"We might really never be able to go back. We—sigh, I'm starting to feel sentimental too, which is really not a good sign."

"In any case, we must do our best to accomplish what we can. May I ask where Li Qing, the graduate student, is? Richard and I still have a lot to discuss with him regarding fungi!"

At this point, Kobayashi Naoya took a weary breath, and then I decisively began to see the guests out, having Gavin replace Kobayashi Naoya.

Seeing this, Gavin nodded with a wry smile and called Li Qing over the walkie-talkie.

After Li Qing arrived, Gavin told him about the astronauts' situation and then handed the radio to him.

Li Qing was once again immersed in the ocean of knowledge with Kobayashi Naoya and biologist Richard.

Gavin left the broadcasting room with a heavy heart and went to the rooftop.

It was still a bit cold, but Gavin didn't care; the cold wind helped him stay more alert.

Feeling the cold wind blowing across his cheeks, Gavin came to the edge of the rooftop and sat on the rooftop, looking into the distance.

About 170 meters away from him, the blacksmith Manus and the mechanic Wells were welding the last two searchlights.

And Susan—

The girl was wrapped up like a ball and sitting leisurely not far from Manus, fast asleep. Gavin couldn't help but be stunned when he saw Susan's sleeping posture, and then shook his head with amusement.

He had to admit that Susan's extremely lazy demeanor actually looked quite relaxing.

Indeed, in the face of a zombie apocalypse that continues every second, everyone is more likely to survive longer in the apocalypse if they keep themselves on high alert.

But humans are not purely machines. When faced with a future that offers almost no hope, the more tense people are, the more likely they are to break down.

On the contrary, lazy people like Susan who live carefree and without a care in the world are less likely to have mental problems.

Thinking of this, Gavin suddenly paused, as if he had grasped some key point.

He pondered for a moment, then immediately stood up and strode towards the broadcasting room.

As he walked, he took out a walkie-talkie and spoke to Thomas.

"Thomas, this is Gavin. Bring the new ZT to the broadcasting room immediately, and call Winnie over too!"

"Besides that, is there anyone in the camp who sings well? The bar has instruments like guitars and drums; anyone who knows how to use them can bring them to the broadcasting room!"

Just as he finished speaking, Gavin rushed into the broadcasting room.

Meanwhile, Susan, who had been awakened by the intercom, groggily opened her eyes and asked over the intercom.

"Wait, old man, do you want to hear some music? I can play the organ and violin, and I can also play a little guitar."

"Yes, Gavin, if you wanted to hear a song, you should have said so sooner. I'm Daniel, the only grandma in the Baron's team, but I'm a really good singer~"

"I sing pretty well too, boss. I'm Arturo, and I'm currently taking care of Abel. But I mostly sing sailor songs. I was a sailor for a while before I joined the gang."

As soon as Gavin finished speaking, three replies came through the walkie-talkie.

After hearing their voices and confirming that no more people would step forward, Gavin turned on his walkie-talkie and spoke to them.

"Susan, Daniel, Arturo, go find the instruments right away and bring them to the broadcast studio."

"receive."

"OK."

"I'm coming right now."

As everyone responded, Gavin also came into the broadcasting room.

He raised his hand and pressed it on Li Qing's shoulder, interrupting Li Qing's conversation with Kobayashi Naoya, and spoke into the radio.

"Excuse me, Lin, this is Jia. I hereby announce that your research time for today is over!"

"What? Wait a minute? Gavin, what do you mean by 'research time is over'?"

Naoya Kobayashi immediately asked Gavin, who was puzzled. Gavin put his arm around the bewildered Li Qing and replied to Naoya Kobayashi.

"That's exactly what I meant, Kobayashi. We shouldn't be doing research right now. Go and get all of you in front of the radio. Remember, everyone, including your psychiatrist!"

At this point, Gavin placed his hands on the table, his eyes fixed intently on the radio.

After hearing Gavin's words, Kobayashi Naoya paused for a moment in confusion, then said to Gavin with a helpless expression.

"Gavin, I think I understand what you mean. You want us to pause our academic research and clear our minds to combat psychological stress, right?"

"But this is not advisable, because the pressure is unlimited, but time is limited."

"If we can't buy time by withstanding the pressure, then we—"Ha, stop talking, Kobayashi, just do as I say!"

At that moment, Gavin interrupted Kobayashi and continued speaking to him.

"Right now, I only want to hear each and every one of your voices, you understand? Every single one of you. Don't make me repeat myself a third time. Go call them, Kobayashi-kun, go call them!"

"Uh, okay, Gavin, but if I get beaten up, you have to buy me some sushi when we get back to Earth. They've been pretty irritable these past few days, and if I interrupt them, I might really get beaten up—..."

Kobayashi said to Gavin with a slightly uneasy expression.

Upon hearing this, Gavin couldn't help but chuckle, then shouted loudly to Kobayashi.

"Of course, I'll treat you to black abalone sushi. I have a ton of those in my warehouse, go get them!"

"OK, I'll do as you say, for the black abalone!"

Kobayashi then cheered up, turned around and went to the other cabins, calling over every astronaut.

The astronauts were really irritated by Kobayashi's shout.

Especially Big Ivan, this Russian guy simply grabbed Kobayashi by the collar and roared at him.

"What are you doing, you little brat? I'm fucking working out our data. Damn it, you know Edwin's previous calculations were all inaccurate, right? I have so much to do, I—..."

"Uh, Ivan, Gavin sent me. I didn't want to refuse him, since we'll need his support to survive back home."

Kobayashi quickly shifted the blame onto Gavin.

Upon hearing Kobayashi's statement, Ivan remained silent for a moment. Then, he shook his head helplessly.

"Alright, damn it, I want to see what he's up to. Have the zombies on Earth evolved into tyrants? Otherwise, I really can't imagine what he's planning to do by gathering us all together!"

As he spoke, Big Ivan turned and floated back toward the communication bay.

As he arrived, the others had already gathered there and were yelling at Gavin.

Even Charlie Duke, a physicist and mechanician and a fan of Gavin, couldn't help but grip the radio and complain wearily to Gavin.

"Gavin, God, why are you calling us at this hour? We're in complete chaos, we can't even manage our own things!"

"This damn space station has basically become our graveyard. We all know it's unlikely any of us will make it back alive, so let's not waste our time. The more we try, the better our chances of survival will be!"

"That's right!"

Beside Charlie, biologist Richard, rubbing his forehead, chimed in with a frustrated expression.

"Gavin, I just took over Edwin's work from a while ago. Good heavens, my math is only so-so, and the workload is just too heavy. If I could, I'd be working on it 24/7!"

"Didn't we already have Kobayashi accompany you? His expertise is almost on par with mine, and he alone is enough for you!"

At this point, Richard immediately wanted to leave.

But just as he put down the radio, Gavin on the other end spoke to them over the radio.

"Would you like to hear a song?"

"What?!"

Upon hearing Gavin's words, Ivan, who had just arrived, was stunned. He walked to the radio, picked up the microphone, and spoke to Gavin, seemingly bewildered.

"No way, Gavin, you fucking called us all over just to hear a song?"

"Otherwise what, Ivan? I knew it was you the moment I heard that voice. If you don't want to listen to music, do you want to keep facing countless data points and endless possibilities of danger until you die?"

In response to Ivan's curses, Gavin retorted without hesitation, then seized control of the radio and, under the horrified gazes of Old Bert and Lee Qing, continued to growl at the astronauts.

"You won't live much longer, we all know that. Even if everything goes smoothly for you, you will not be able to return to the ground intact. So how long do you want to ignore this fact!"

"Don't be silly, Big Ivan. Instead of endlessly striving and pushing yourself to the limit until the very end, why not listen to some music? Maybe we can even tell a few jokes."

"Those jokes may not be that funny, but they're definitely more interesting than math problems. If today were our last day, especially if it were my last day, I promise I'd rather listen to some funny music and say goodbye to this world at a time I know clearly, than use all my last strength to fight, only to face death anyway!"

"Struggling may be the last resort for the weak to challenge fate, but relaxing is also a way for us to mock fate!"

"Stop fucking thinking about the data in your heads. For every song we sing, you have to sing one too. There's no room for negotiation!"

At this point, Gavin didn't even look at what the Astros were doing; he immediately seized the radio signal and started singing the World Cup theme song.

He doesn't know many songs. Besides Chinese songs, he only knows songs by the Cowboys and a few other sports songs in English.

As for the World Cup theme songs, well, every single one of them is a masterpiece, perfect for uplifting spirits.

And so, whether the astronauts wanted to hear it or not, the tune of the Cup of Life began to play in the communication capsule.

The astronauts eventually fell silent.

Listening to Gavin's energetic singing, Big Ivan remained silent for a moment, then helplessly spread his hands to his companions and asked.

"Guys, are our crew on the ground going a bit crazy too? Gavin doesn't seem quite right."

"No, the abnormal ones are us, guys. We're the ones who're sick. Gavin is mediating for us, and I believe his methods are effective!"

Nearby, mathematician and psychologist Edwin, unusually assertive, interrupted Ivan.

But as soon as Edwin finished speaking, all the astronauts turned to look at him, and then rolled their eyes in unison.

"Damn it, this is terrible! Gavin's brainwaves have collided with Edwin's schizophrenia!" Ivan exclaimed.

"It seems the mental health issues among the ground crew are quite serious. I suspect Gavin is also experiencing auditory hallucinations!" Richard said worriedly.

"Yes, he might be really seriously injured, but—." Charlie said, glancing at Sergei not far away.

Sergei, the Russian chemist, was smiling and clapping along with Gavin.

"Go go go, oo le oo le oo le, go go go—uh, why are you all looking at me? This song is very famous, isn't it? Don't any of you know it?"

At this point, Sergei glanced at the radio with disdain, then continued with amusement.

"Hao's singing was absolutely awful. Gavin is completely unfit to sing. After Hao finishes, I'm definitely going to sing him a Katyusha!"

"Wait, why are you all looking at me like I'm an idiot? You—wow, listen, Gavin's variation~"

Just as Sergei finished speaking, Susan, wrapped up like a ball, came into the long room carrying an accordion and shouted to Gavin.

"Boss, does giving you a variation and singing count as a favor? If so, then I won't go begging for food alone tonight!"

"Haha, yes, of course it counts! Give me a variation, little girl~"

Gavin laughed as he spoke to Susan, and the conversation between Gavin and Susan, along with the interrupted singing, made the astronauts involuntarily laugh.

The astronauts smiled, and Edwin, rubbing his red and bloodshot eyes, addressed the crowd.

"Did you hear that? The atmosphere on the ground is much better than ours. Their conversations are full of life, but ours is lifeless."

"Now you understand what Gavin means, right? We need psychological counseling, but every form of counseling takes time to complete. So if you really want to help us, you'll have to take up the time we supposedly spend on important matters!"

"And I think what Hao did was right, especially from a psychologist's perspective, because the reason I find it so difficult is that I've been watching you all head down a dead end!"

"The endless stream of individual works is ultimately driven by our persistent desires, a desire mixed with our clinging to life and our greed for a chance at survival. It is precisely these desires that lead us repeatedly into dead ends, from which we cannot escape!"

"And now, stop worrying about how we should survive. If we were to die today, I certainly don't want to die in front of a pile of papers!"

"Come on, everyone, make way! We're not going to sing one song at a time, are we? I'm going to sing one of Michael's songs back for him later!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Edwin simply took over the car radio.

As Hao sat down, not far away, the Hao astronauts looked at each other, and then Charlie said helplessly to Edwin.

"Edwin, you don't sound like a patient at all!"

"Ha, I just have a mental illness, I'm not stupid, my logic is fine, um, my logic is fine!"

Edwin answered, and then added a final confirmation.

Meanwhile, in the ground broadcasting room, ZT and Mrs. Daniel arrived with Jimmy and Violin respectively.

Behind them, the three pilots even brought out a drum kit.

Suddenly, the variations increased dramatically, and the voices on the radio gradually became noisy, so noisy that the sounds were almost inaudible.

But the more this is the case, the astronauts can't help but feel happier.

They were increasingly moved.

After all, the more voices there are on the ground, the more people are working hard for their well-being.

This feeling of being cared about by so many people is almost making us forget the fact that humanity is facing its end!

A moment later, the second "gogogo" verse began to play.

Ivan couldn't help but swallow hard and spoke to Sergei.

"Sergei, if you want to sing Katyusha, cough cough, I have a harmonica that can play a variation."

"Haha, I even have percussion software in my machine, I can help you with variations~"

Charlie finally found a bit of fun, so he simply took out his phone, opened the app, and started playing the drums.

Seeing Charlie gradually become more lively, Edwin took a deep breath, and tears welled up involuntarily.

He wiped away his tears and whispered to the crowd.

"I took two whole cases of whiskey and martinis with me when I went to heaven. I'll bring them to us right now; we haven't even sat down together for a drink yet!"

"That's great, you mental patient, you finally have a new creation, haha~"

Charlie laughed and put his arm around Edwin's shoulder, then pushed him toward Big Ivan, who was leaving to find a harmonica.

Then, after Gavin finished singing "The Cup of Life".

The astronauts then joined in, playing the tune of "Katyusha"!

Gavin breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing that it was clearly a human singing Katyusha.

Because Hao had been hogging the radio, he really didn't know how the astronauts would react to his actions!

If they don't react, it only proves that I still don't understand the inner world of scientists, but there's nothing shameful about that. I just want to offer some spiritual help to the astronauts in any way I can.

Although the astronauts are all extremely talented individuals, the situation they are facing is an isolated island environment that is unique in the human world. Compared to a real island, they don't even have a beach where they can take a bath or seafood that they can eat until they are sick of it!

In this situation, Gavin could only try to relieve some of the pressure on them.

After hearing the astronauts' response, and listening to the radio connection between two different instruments and at least one person's singing, C

Gavin finally breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed that Hao's approach was somewhat effective.

The sound continued for over forty minutes before finally ending with the end of the radio broadcast.

Seeing that there was no response from the radio, Gavin let out a long sigh, sat down in his chair, and said with a smile.

"Haha, they're all so stubborn, always clamoring to do research and calculations, but they respond to us in every song. They actually really like it that way."

"Yeah, boss, and I really love this project, haha, it actually helps astronauts in space! This kind of project makes me feel like my work at the radio station has become sacred!"

ZT smiled and said to Gavin, "I'm standing here."

Upon hearing ZT's words, Gavin pondered for a moment, then raised his hand to silence the cheers and noise from the crowd, before speaking to ZT.

Said.

"Yes, ZT, I'm entrusting the future expansion of the camp to you. Besides the ever-present zombie survival manual, I think you should add some content like today's to the expansion!"

"I've only just realized how we can keep reminding a group of people already living in the apocalypse, constantly making them relive how dangerous their world is?"

"Of course, providing survival training for the children is necessary, but in addition to this and promoting our camp, providing them with some forms of entertainment is equally important!"

"A constantly updated zombie survival manual might certainly save a group of people, but I think that even a simple song and a couple of apocalyptic jokes could save a group of people just as well."

"After all, it's not just zombies that can kill people; despair can kill us too!"

At this point, Gavin patted ZT on the shoulder, and ZT nodded in response.

"No problem, boss. Singing is my forte, but I can only rap. If I want to sing other songs, I'll have to find someone to help. I think the guys sang pretty well today. Can I invite them to the radio station once in a while?"

As soon as zt spoke, he gave Susan and Grandma Daniel, who were not far away, a couple of winks.

Meeting ZT's wink, Susan immediately returned a flying kiss, and Mrs. Daniel gave her a thumbs-up.

"I don't like ghosts, but your rap is pretty good!"

The old lady responded to zt in this way.

At this point, approximately twenty minutes had passed.

In the central warehouse of a Walmart hypermarket near the highway exit in Marin City, a place that is completely deserted.

Listening to the constant stream of voices on the radio, Sean, who had gone bankrupt due to betting on the wrong porcelain container and was forced to live in a warehouse, was currently smashing one of the countless radios with a baseball bat!

Boom!

As the radio shattered instantly, Sean gritted his teeth, his face contorted with rage, and stared at the radio still lying in his lungs.

"Go to hell! I haven't even seen a single zombie you're talking about. What's the point of you guys telling me this all the time?"

,

"That's right, the world is utterly humiliated, I am utterly humiliated, and don't let your mother keep reminding me!"

"Damn it, is there anyone who can save me—"

"Screw it, nobody can save me. I can't save myself. I shouldn't have believed that bullshit movie. Who said you could climb into a ventilation duct? Screw it! How am I supposed to shove my head into a ventilation duct that's only the size of two fists?!"

"I'm hopeless, I'm utterly hopeless, I'd rather die at the hands of zombies!"

Even as Hao shouted this, the radio was still playing the sound of a zombie survival manual.

As he listened to the stories about the storm and the Bloodseekers, Sean felt all his strength drain away.

Suddenly, Hao changed his previous irritability, lay down next to the radio, and looked up at the top of the screen.

Above Hao, Hao is using several shelves to pull ropes, suspending a refrigerator aimed at himself.

"Fuck—"

Hao watched as the refrigerator thudded, then casually rolled half a circle to avoid being hit by it.

"If the refrigerator doesn't kill me instantly, I'll probably suffer for a long time. So, what's a way to die without any pain?"

"I don't even have a pistol, damn it, am I supposed to commit seppuku like those samurai in the movies?"

"That would be so stupid. I'd rather go to the pharmacy section and wait. Do they have sleeping pills here? Maybe I can find some medicine—"

"Ring ring ring ring~ Guys, the zombie survival manual time is officially over. Now the time belongs to me, to Gavin's loyal little fanboy, the globally popular pre-apocalyptic DJ, Z-T!!!"

Just as Sean was thinking about this, suddenly, the voice on the radio changed abruptly!

A frivolous voice that sounded particularly irritating came from the radio!

This change made Sean Wood stare wide-eyed, then he looked toward the radio.

While he was engrossed in listening, ZT's voice continued on the radio.

"Besides myself, I've also invited renowned singer Daniel from Camp Gavin, as well as amateur singer Susan Garcia!"

"So anyone want to request a song? Sorry, I was just kidding, because we don't receive your requests at all!"

"Haha, anyone starting to feel annoyed? Then come and beat me up at Gavin's camp! But before you do, how about listening to me rap a bit?"
