Chapter 14 You're dreaming

Chapter 14 You're dreaming

"What the hell are you doing? Do you want your good leg to become a cripple too?!"

As the car came to an emergency stop, a new round of curses erupted from inside.

Then, another, relatively young voice rang out from the car, and the voice responded with a powerful roar.

"Shut your mouth, you bastard! I already told you to stop the car!"

As soon as the voice responded, the two voices in the car started arguing fiercely.

"Yes, Fuck, you told me to stop, and I pretended not to hear you, but is that why you dared to step on my brakes?"

"You were driving at 120 mph just now! Do you want to die?!"

"So what? Didn't you see someone robbing someone on the street? I'm a police officer!"

"A trainee police officer is considered a police officer? Besides, what the hell does it matter to me whether you're a police officer or not?"

"I was burglarizing a house just half an hour ago, and I even ran over an entire film crew. You think you're a cop? I'm not even afraid of death right now!"

"A crippled cop trying to drag a murderer along to catch a fucking robber? Are you crazy or am I crazy, fucking William!"

"Shut your mouth, back the car up, back it up!"

"Get lost! Why don't you just die? Having a neighbor like you is fucking a death sentence! And don't you dare try to grab the steering wheel!"

"Listen to me, back the car up, or I'll blow your head off!"

"You're fucking insane, fuck!"

Stab it!

The car in the distance suddenly turned around and sped towards the gas station.

As Ford drew ever closer in the shadows, Madison let out a heavy snort and deftly released the safety on his shotgun.

Gavin holstered his revolver back in his waist holster, casually resting his right hand on the revolver handle, and took two steps forward to stand under the gas station lights to make his face more visible.

At the same time, he whispered to Madison.

"Old Mike, keep a close eye on that driver."

"I get it, a thief and a cop, the one driving is the thief, an interesting combination, I'll keep an eye on him!"

Madison responded with a shout, then stood menacingly beside Gavin.

While the two were waiting, Ford drove straight to the gas station, circled around, and stopped about twelve meters away from Gavin, positioning the passenger door facing Gavin and his companion.

Then, the figure in the driver's seat vanished instantly, probably curling up and hiding.

The passenger-side window of the Ford slowly rolled down, and the young policeman's voice came from inside.

"DPD (Dallas Police Department)! Cease your actions immediately! Hands up, get down on the ground! Drop your guns! Put your guns down now!"

As he shouted, half a head slowly rose from the passenger window, followed by the muzzle of a pistol pointing at Gavin.

"Don't force me to shoot. I'll count to three, then immediately put down your gun and put your arms around me... Gavin? Holy crap, Gavin? Oh shit?!"

The police officer stopped mid-sentence, followed by a utterly astonished exclamation.

With a gasp, he quickly pushed open the car door, unbuckled his seatbelt, and leaned out, looking at Gavin with disbelief.

Gavin glanced at the young policeman's blond hair and blue eyes; it was indeed the typical look of a young man in Dallas.

Just as Gavin was observing, the young policeman unbuckled his seatbelt, put his left foot on the ground, and staggered towards Gavin with his right leg bent.

"My God, how could I possibly see the infamous King of the Cowboys on the street at four in the morning!"

"Gavin! Is that really you, Gavin? Are you on a TV show?"

"And Madison Konasek, wow, you guys...you guys are really tall..."

As the young policeman drew closer, his remaining leg hopped slower and slower. When he finally stopped, limping on his right foot, he involuntarily looked up at the two men.

Of course, he was looking up at Madison, who was 2.07 meters tall.

While the young policeman was hopping around on the ground, the guy in the driver's seat also suspiciously poked his head out and looked at Gavin and his companion warily.

After one glance, he exclaimed in surprise, then quickly looked around.

After realizing he couldn't find the camera, he suspiciously grabbed the revolver, pushed open the car door, and jumped out.

As he got out of the car, Madison slowly moved his gun, aiming at him without any attempt to conceal it.

Seeing that Madison remained on guard, the young policeman hesitated for a moment before waving his hands at Gavin and Madison.

"Don't say that. He's with me. We're neighbors and childhood friends."

"I watched you grow up, William!"

The driver added a word, then walked around the car, picked up his revolver, and came to Gavin and the other man's side, observing the situation inside the convenience store from a distance.

After confirming that there were no bodies in the store, he craned his neck to look into the cargo bed of the Tyrannosaurus Rex pickup truck.

After failing to find any bodies, he breathed a faint sigh of relief and hastily tucked the revolver into his belt.

At the same time, the young policeman quickly holstered his gun and excitedly said to Gavin.

"I never expected to see you guys here! You're big stars, the hottest stars in Texas!"

"Especially you, Gavin, you're the pride of Texas. I grew up watching your games, and the Cowboys will always be my team, until death do us part!"

"My God, how can there be such a perfect quarterback in the world! Five consecutive championships! We've won five consecutive championships!"

"I even attended our cowboys' championship parade the other day! God, I'm so lucky! We have to shake hands! Can we shake hands?"

At this point, the young policeman nervously reached out his hand to Gavin.

Seeing this, Gavin expressionlessly grabbed the young policeman's sweaty hand.

The moment their hands met, the young policeman immediately reached out with his second hand, grabbed Gao Wen's palms with both hands, and excitedly shook them up and down.

While shaking, he gave an incoherent self-introduction.

"I'm William Heimward, I'm 24 years old. I've been watching you play since I was in college. Oh, and I'm also a Dallas police officer. Actually, I'd like to play football too..."

"Shut up, you trainee officer! Nobody wants to hear your nonsense!"

His neighbor interrupted him harshly.

William felt embarrassed when his neighbor repeatedly emphasized his internship status, so he awkwardly yelled at his neighbor.

"Shut up!"

After silencing his neighbor, William looked back at Gavin and continued excitedly.

"He is Eugene Lampard, my neighbor, and also my cousin. We've known each other for twenty years."

"Good heavens, we're so lucky, Eugene!"

"This is Gavin! The Cowboys' savior! A Texas miracle! And the god of football!"

"Could you give me your autograph? Please, Gavin, sign your autograph!"

At this point, William hurriedly pulled his hands back, then grabbed his police uniform, flipped open the shirt at the chest, and handed it to Gavin.

Clutching his shirt tightly, William's eyes were like a rabbit eyeing a carrot, filled with urgency and pleading.

Not far away, Eugene looked suspiciously at Madison's gun, which was aimed at him, before coming to William's side.

Looking at William's pleading eyes, Eugene remained silent for a moment, then rolled his eyes, before speaking to Gavin with an air of nonchalance and reeking of alcohol.

"Big star, for us to meet in a roadside shop at this hour, isn't that just fate?"

"If you ask me, just sign an autograph for this kid. It won't kill you, it's not like it's any more tiring than sleeping with those Brazilian girls, is it?"

As soon as Eugene finished speaking, Madison, who was behind Gavin, immediately started cursing at Eugene.

"Watch your mouth, you son of a bitch!"

"Fuck you, you bitch! I thought you were just someone who could only masturbate with a big gun, turns out you can fart too!"

Eugene immediately gave Madison the middle finger and cursed back at him with a look of displeasure.

"If it were me in the old days, and I encountered trash like you pointing a gun at me, I would have blown your dog basket to smithereens!"

"Did you hear what I said before? Did you hear me hit someone? You think a black pig like you can use my head to collect the bounty?"

"Screw it! Even if I kill a ton of people, I haven't even issued a bounty yet. You're dreaming! Samoff will eat you!"

As Eugene continued his tirade, he grew increasingly enraged and finally pulled out a revolver, pointing it at Madison.

But as soon as he raised his pistol, Gavin gripped his hand tightly.

At the same time, Gavin instantly drew his gun with his right hand and shoved the muzzle into William's wide-open, astonished mouth.
